Comments:

Jupiter was an 18 knot steamer who was launched for the day long excursions from Princes Pier Gourock. She was designed to compete with the Caledonian Steam Packet ships in the Firth of Clyde and when built, she was the largest steamer sailing from Princes Pier. Prior to the First World War she moved from the Firth-Arran route to become the G&SWR Kyles of Bute steamer. During the First World war she served, like so many paddlers as a minesweeper. After the war she sailed to Ayr and later for various excursions including the Round the Lochs tour. In 1934 she moved to the Largs and Millport run from Wemyss Bay where she remained until the end of her career. She was sold for breaking up at Wards yard at Barrow in December 1935.
