Comments:

Manxman was the first turbine steamer to visit the Isle of Man and was built for the Midland Railway Company. She was acquired by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co in 1920 and converted to burn oil the following year. During the Great War she was employed as a seaplane carrier in the Mediterranean and in the Second World War she was a troop carrier and later a radar training ship. After the war she was laid up and was considered too old to recondition and was scrapped at Preston in 1949.
