Comments:

A popular steamer, operating out of Liverpool, she could carry 462 passengers and had a service speed of 14 knots. She saw war service as a minesweeper out of Harwich and Dover and returned to the company in 1920. There was little protection on her aft deck in poor weather, when an awning would be tied over a metal frame. She survived until 1931, when she was broken up at Port Glasgow. The card from which this picture comes has the following printed on the reverse: " This beautiful Series of Fine Art Post Cards is supplied free exclusively by Shurey's Publications, comprising 'Smart Novels,' 'Yes or No' and 'Dainty Novels.' The finest 1d Magazine is 'Weekly Tale-Teller.'" Great fun! For an undated picture of her crew (along with some curious passengers!) please click here.
