After the magnificent paddle steamer La Marguerite went out of service in 1925 St Tudno (III) was introduced in the following year on the Liverpool to Llandudno and Menai Straits run. St Tudno was a large turbine steamer who could carry almost 2,500 passengers and was capable of 19 knots. Her accommodation was comfortable and included private cabins. She was originally a two class ship, but after the Second World War she became a single class ship. She continued in service until 1962, when the Liverpool & North Wales Steamship Co could no longer continue trading and went into voluntary liquidation. St Tudno was sold by the Liquidators and was towed to Ghent for scrapping in March the following year. For a previously unpublished colour picture of St Tudno on her last voyage from Llandudno in September 1962 please click here.
