Comments:

Yarmouth Belle was one of the more economical of the Belle fleet, a fact which helped her survive much longer than some of her fleetmates. She, like the rest of the fleet, had many owners following the financial instablity of the Belle Steamers Ltd company. In 1928 she was acquired by the New Medway Steam Packet Co and renamed Queen of Southend. She had extensive reconditioning in the winter of 1935/36, when her fore saloon was relaced by extending the the upper deck and plating it up to the bows. In 1938 her name was changed again to Thames Queen. She was finally scrapped in the spring of 1947 after she was found unfit for reconditioning after the Second World War. She is shown here at low tide at the Tilbury landing stage; note the sheep awaiting transportation!
