Paint and Trim page !

I have now been able to scan the colour chips for the paint colours used on the MK1 Cortina between 1962 and 1966. However, there were problems with this as follows:-

The chips/samples are old and consequently "dirty". The scanner picks up everything, and the dirt seems to get magnified. This means I have had to clean the scanned images using a paint program. I cannot guarantee the purity of colour of the paint samples. 

Please do NOT use these for colour-matching purposes. At best, they give an indication of the colour of your car. For example, one of my cars does not have the chassis plate, so I do not know the paint code. Using these samples I have been able to identify the paint colour. Note that I will be taking expert advice to match the colour before buying paint.

Note: Works Rally Cortina MK1s used Ford Venetian Red Number 1 as their primary colour (used on 1980 Fiestas)  (See below).

The bonnet and front wing tops were sprayed Matt Black.

Note: All my nice matt black has peeled off now. Seems the "matting" agent causes this. Next time I'm just going to spray it black !
