Old Books re-printed

Thanks to the efforts of Bob Woolner and Jim Gavin, two books which were out of print have been revived.

"Rallying Escorts and Cortinas" by Jim Gavin, was first published around 1970. This slim volume of some 80 pages contains masses of useful information for the would-be Escort or Cortina rally driver. Measuring 5 inches wide X 8-1/2 inches deep the re-prints are good quality photocopies of the original.

The second book, also by Jim Gavin, is entitled "Ford Cortina Tuning for Power and Performance" and is a larger format book at 7 inches wide X 9-1/2 inches deep and containing 86 pages. It contains lots of information about all the special parts that were available when these cars were winning everything in sight. For more information see the contact details above.

Jim Gavin has been involved with Cortinas since the early 1960s, and ran a very successful team of three MK1 GTs in 1967. In 1968 Jim built and drove the only Escort in the London to Sydney marathon. The car was the forerunner of the Rallye Sport Mexico. In 1970 Jim's firm built the Cortina which his partner drove into 15th place in the London-Mexico. Jim helped to plot the route for the third marathon and covered almost 10,000 miles between London and Bombay in an Escort.
