You are looking at the front of the left hand chassis section, where the anti-roll bar mounts, and where the chassis meets the front panel. This is a common rust area, so be prepared to patch.

Here the rusty metal has been cut away and the inside of the chassis member cleaned up. Check that the two captive bolts are in good condition BEFORE you start to weld! Apply oil on the bolt threads and check for any rusting or damage.

Cut a patch from cardboard, make sure it is a good fit, then convert the shape from card onto metal.
