Co2 "Air Pistols" are used in the club but not in competition, they are mainly used as training aids. These Air weapons are gaining in popularity in the UK and competitions are now starting to show up at main stream events.
The Browning 9mm is used in Police Pistol and Match 11 or the Whitehead in the Inter Service Pistol competition that is shot at the beginning of July at Bisley camp in England for the Whitehead trophy. This shoot is one of the matches that the RAFPC uses in its championships, the 9mm Browning is also used in the center fire match. The center fire match is the same as the UIT match of the same name but using the Browning instead of more traditional weapons like the Hammerli 280 or Walther GSP .32 this is due to current UK firearms restrictions.
Air weapons are now the main weapon of the Royal Air Force Pistol Club, we shoot 10m Air, Sport Pistol and Standard Air up to distances of 25m. To get more information on the competitions that we shoot click on the weapons above.
