The Windmills are a four piece guitar band from Southend, England. The line up is Roy Thirlwall (vocals, guitar), Tony Pankhurst (lead guitar), Dan Pankhurst (bass) and Rob Clarke (drums).
They were originally formed in the mid eighties and re-formed in 1999 when they signed to Matinee Recordings of Washington DC. They have since released three eps, a single and three albums on Matinee;
The band played its first shows in the US in May 2002 in support of their second LP 'Sunlight' and to launch the three-track "Walking Around The World" EP. Their third album 'Now is Then' was released in the autumn of 2003.
