If your child plays any kind of physical sport, at school or in a club, there's a risk of dental damage.

Mouthguards (sometimes known as GumShields) are like a crash helmet for teeth and are almost universally worn in direct contact sports such as Boxing, American football and most Martial Arts.

However, being accidentally caught in the face by a squash racket or lacrosse stick, or falling awkwardly across show jumping poles, can cause more damage to the teeth than any blow from a boxing glove.

These days, mouth guards are worn by serious players in:

    • A split lip will heal; broken teeth won't. Restorative dental treatment can be costly, time consuming and painful.
    However ... experts agree that low quality mouthguards are more trouble than they're worth, especially for children.

    They're loose fitting and uncomfortable in use; they can slip and cause choking; more often or not your child will contrive to "lose" the thing about five minutes into the game.

    RAINBOW mouthguards are the answer. They're made from a flexible high impact polymer, designed to support the teeth and protect the gums, and individually moulded to casts of your childs teeth, so they fit your child alone. The tight but flexible fit means they don't move, and don't restrict breathing.

    The mouthguard is supplied with indentations for the lower teeth too, so that in the event of an impact to the lower jaw it is held in place; results show that a custom made mouthguard can prevent damage to the jaw, neck and even the brain - helping prevent the concussion and reverberation damage caused by a "teeth rattling blow".

(You can have up to 5 colours in each mouthguard) and come complete with the players name and an x-ray radio opaque strip permanently sealed within them.
