The two options
The ClubTurf "Natural" Pitch
This is the traditional ClubTurf pitch, with the sub-base constructed entirely of natural materials and which offers the full range of weather-affected changeable playing characteristics of a well prepared natural turf pitch. However, provided that the pitch is cared for and receives the maintenance that it may require from time to time, its changeability will always be predictable with never the erratic performance of a poor natural pitch. It is the pitch that is best suited to club, university, senior school, and similar situations where the low level of maintenar,ce that the pitch requires can reasonably be assumed to be available. It is the pitch of which the great Tom Cartwright has said,"It offers a fair reward for skills whether batter or bowler and, although favouring the batsman by virtue of its predictability, the bowler who can extract whatever may be in the pitch will get his wickets."
The ClubTurf "International" Pitch
This pitch is designed to meet situations where even minimal maintenance may be a problem, and is the pitch specified worldwide by the ICC.
It is constructed on the same principle as the ClubTurf "Natural" pitch with a consolidated stone base and hard-porous layer in order to give it a similar pace and bounce. However, the base construction is overlaid with NuraPad. Whilst still providing a degree of changeability in its playing characteristics, the main attraction of this pitch is its virtual elimination of routine maintenance by virtue of the NuraPad protecting the hard-porous from disturbance.
Both ClubTurf pitch systems are ECB Approved.
