Beti's father, the late William Ellis Hughes was a stationmaster who served in Anglesey, and Hartford for seven years before moving to Runcorn. Mrs Morris is a former pupil of the local Sir John Deane's School.

WYNNE is a retired P.E. teacher. Brought up in Llangrannog, Cardiganshire he is a cousin to the popular Welsh troubadour Dafydd Iwan, and comes from a family of literateurs.

GWILI is the former pioneering manager of the town's Memorial Hall. He retired to South Wales in 1981and became active with the Bridgend Writer's Circle, choirs and Church. He and Joan his wife returned to Northwich in 2000 to be near their son and family.

At the recent AGM, and for the third consecutive year, members elected a lady to the Chair. She is Colwyn Bay born Mrs Beti Morris, Barrymore Road, Runcorn, and succeeds Mrs Wenda Jones, Kingsmead, Northwich. Re-elected as Treasurer for the thirtieth year was the Cardi, Wynne Jones, and as Secretary, Whitland born Gwili Lewis, who also held the same office for 12 years when he was Manager of the Memorial Hall 1961-81.
