In future if you'd like your own please register. Falco Lecture Prize "Today's young people lead much less active lives than ever before, so creating a future generation of unhealthy adults." That's the theme of the Velo-city Falco Lecture Prize for 2001, The winner will receive a cash prize of 1,700 Euros (£1,200) and will be asked to present their paper at the Velo-city 2001 conference, Details Outreach underway At the beginning of April all secondary schools in central Scotland were sent an information pack about cycling. Schools were asked to send a brief outline of ideas that would encourage more people to cycle - or to cycle more often. The most interesting proposals will be developed, with the schools, as part of the Velo-city 2001 Outreach Programme. Delegates at this year's Velo Mondial will get the chance to see the delights of Edinburgh and Glasgow - on video. Glasgow company Fresh Film and Television has been commissioned to highlight some of the activities already underway in the two cities, plus a glimpse of what's in store for 2001. Children from Stenhouse Primary School in Edinburgh will be filmed on one of their Cycle Club outings. The school is involved in a project to design information boards for part of the North Edinburgh Cycle Network. |
