VELO-CITY FALCO LECTURE PRIZE

The European Cyclists Federation (ECF), as promoter of the Velo-city Falco Lecture Prize, now announces the topic for the next prize. Developing the debate on the role of the bicycle, we now invite papers on the subject of:

Problem. Today's young people lead much less active lives than ever before, so creating a future generation of unhealthy adults.

Challenge. Describe the main themes of a promotional strategy, and how they would help to ensure tomorrow's adults use the bicycle as a normal part of an everyday and healthy life.

The paper should be between 2,500 - 3,000 words, preferably in English and must be submitted to our London office before Friday 23rd February 2001. The winner will receive a cash prize of 1,700 Euros (£1,200) and will be asked to present their paper at the Velo-city 2001 conference, which takes place in Edinburgh and Glasgow between 17th and 21st September 2001.

This project is run by ECF in co-operation with Falco, a Dutch manufacturer of cycle parking racks and street furniture.

There is an international panel of eight judges to review the entries. They have been selected to cover all aspects of the transport issue. They are.
