Pier Archive: Photos, Newspaper Cuttings, Show Programmes, Memories
I'm creating an archive with the aim of publishing two books: A small visitors guide in the near future, and a more in depth history of the pier in a couple of years time when more research has been done.
I need as many photos, postcards and other images as possible in order to accurately restore some of the lost features of the pier and its buildings. Unfortunately, none of the original plans survive, so in order to re-create the original entrance kiosks and gates, and restore the ballroom inside and out, we're relying on period photographs and personal recollections. Even the smallest of details on a photo can be hugely valuable to me, so whether you have lived in Colwyn all your life, or only visited once on holiday, please search your photo albums and see what you can find!
Newspaper articles, show programmes and tickets, posters etc from the past 100 years all give details and dates to help piece together the history of the pier.
So please have a good search around and send anything you can to me at the pier. (Address on contact page) If you don't want to part with your originals, please send good colour laser copies if possible, or send the originals with an SAE and I'll copy them and send the originals back to you.

Donations:
Obviously, a huge sum of money needs to be found to completely restore the pier. To give you an idea, in total it will cost two pounds to restore an area of pier the same size as your credit card.
