BELVOIR CASTLE STEAM FESTIVAL AND FAMILY SHOW
19-20 May 2007

TRACTOR SECTION                                    (www.steamfestival.co.uk)

This year's Belvoir Castle Steam Festival was a great success despite the poor weather in the early part of the preceding week. Wednesday was wet, prompting fears of a re-run of the very wet 2006 rally. However, Thursday stayed clear and dried slightly, and on Friday the wind blew, the sun shone and the site began to dry out. By Saturday conditions were good, and Sunday was glorious!

This year we featured David Brown, and 46 tractors took part together with a David Brown baler and various mounted implements. It was a varied and colourful display, fully supported by the David Brown Tractor Club and in particular their Lincolnshire Branch.

The Vale of Belvoir Machinery Group demonstrated threshing, baling, chaff cutting and corn grinding machines, and AJB Engineering worked a rack sawbench. All these machines were belt-driven from various tractors.

Next year the Single Cylinder Tractor Gathering will return to Belvoir Castle, and there has been a request to feature International Harvester tractors.
