On 17-18 May 2008 the Single Cylinder Gathering was hosted by the
BELVOIR CASTLE STEAM FESTIVAL AND FAMILY SHOW
The Festival also featured International Harvester tractors and machinery.

A grand total of 278 tractors took part representing 44 manufacturers, as follows:

Single Cylinders:
Lanz                      - 17, including an HL and an HP from the 1920s, and also a Pampa.
SF Vierzon           - 4
Landini                  - 1
Marshall/Fowler - 14, including a 12/20, an M and two Fowler VFs.

International Harvester - 52, including two Moguls, a Junior, three 10/20s, a TD40, a 400 Diesel, a B276 and at the end of the line a 1056XL.

Allis Chalmers - 16
David Brown - 18
Nuffield/Leyland - 12
Ferguson and Massey Ferguson - 46, including a Ferguson Brown Model A.

Ford/Fordson - 50, including a Ford 9NAN.
County - 3, Doe - 1, Chaseside - 1, Muir Hill - 1.

Holder - 1, MAN - 1, Fahr - 1, Deutz - 1, Universal - 1, Ursus - 1.
Caterpillar - 1, John Deere - 1, Oliver - 3, Cockshutt - 1.

Garden and small tractors - 19, including Ransomes, Allen, Fahr, Singer, BMB, Trojan, Bolens, Martin Markham, Lister, Wheel Horse, Winget, Opperman, Gutbrod, Bonser, Ariens, Bristol and Newman.

OTHER DISPLAYS
Dynamometer.  A PTO-driven dynamometer, operated by Chris and Sue Collier, was used to measure the power output at the PTO of several exhibitors' tractors.

The Vale of Belvoir Machinery Group put on a working display which included a Foster threshing drum, a Jones stationary baler, a Bamfords chaff cutter, a Bentall corn mill and 30 tractors.

The AJB Engineering display focussed on a working rack sawbench powered either by a tractor or by a steam traction engine borrowed from the Steam Section of the rally.  The display included two other tractors, two Land Rovers and a living van.

The Rutland Group, NVTEC displayed 18 tractors.

The Nottinghamshire Group, NVTEC display caravan was present, together with two tractors.

The Lincolnshire Branch of the David Brown Club display included the Club's tent and David Brown memorabilia sales, together with two tractors.

The Allis Chalmers Tractor Club display included two tractors.

The Tractor Trekkers put on a display which included the Allis Chalmers U and Fordson Major, which are to be driven from Land's End to John O'Groats starting on 17 June, to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Queen's Hospital, Burton on Trent, Respiratory Fund.

Three parades in the main arena were held on both days: Single Cylinders, International Harvester and General Tractors.

A road-run took place on the Saturday evening.

Next year's rally will be held on 16-17 May 2009. Invitations will be sent out during Jan/Feb. The featured tractor is yet to be decided.
