BELVOIR CASTLE STEAM FESTIVAL AND FAMILY SHOW

This year's rally attracted 320 tractors.  The weather was good throughout the weekend and the gate-takings were high.

The featured manufacturers were Ferguson - Massey-Ferguson - Massey-Harris, and we were supported in this display by The Ferguson Club. Eight Massey Harris tractors took part, plus 82 Fergusons and Massey Fergusons ranging from a Ferguson Brown at one end of the line to two brand new Massey Fergusons supplied by Chandlers of Grantham at the other end.  Another 17 Ferguson/M-F were on the club displays.  The tractors were complemented by a large array of implements both mounted and towed.

The general and horticultural tractor line boasted 127 tractors from 42 manufacturers.

Working displays were provided by The Vale of Belvoir Machinery Group - threshing, and AJB Engineering - rack saw bench.

Club displays were put on by The Nottinghamshire Group, NVTEC, The Rutland Group NVTEC, The David Brown Club (Lincolnshire Branch), The Ferguson Club and Blue Force.

Mortons Media prize for Best Tractor in Show (less the featured manufacturers) was judged by Michael Hart and Colin Holwell and presented to Brian Cooke from Barnsley with his Deutz D15; his prize was a year's subscription to Tractor magazine, presented by Colin Tyson on behalf of Mortons Media Group Ltd. Prize for best Massey Harris/Ferguson/Massey Ferguson went to Gordon Carson from Wisbech with his Massey Harris Challenger.

Next year's rally is planned for 19-20 May 2012, and the Single Cylinder tractor feature will return
