Retford Fire Station is situated in the centre of the market town of Retford in North Nottinghamshire. It is one of 25 stations giving fire cover to the residents of Nottinghamshire. Retford has a population of approx. 21,000, the station is manned 24hrs a day by wholetime fire-fighters supplemented by a crew of retained fire-fighters on call 24hrs a day who respond to the station by pager from home. This site is about the retained section here at Retford. To see a fleet list for Notts please click here.

The present station was opened in 1966 having moved from the building next door, it has two water ladders, Dennis Sabre (V601 DRB) & Dennis Rapier (N650 XTO), and one rescue tender Dennis Sabre (S361 ATO). The station attends 700-800 shouts a year (retained approx. 200 of them), in the station ground are three power stations, two secure institutions, A1 trunk road and a section of the River Trent. As well as this we have the residential and rural risks etc.
