It is the summer term at Jane's (or the Jane Willard Foundation,
to give the school its proper name). To their surprise, Dimsie
and four of her friends are moved up a form - but Rosamund,
Dimsie's closest friend, is left behind in the Third Form.
Already known for her initiative (or "cheek", as the older
girls call it!), Dimsie takes steps to remedy this unsatisfactory
situation. In the process Dimsie finds herself crossing swords
with the mischief making Nita, becoming a founder member of
the Anti-Soppists Society, rescuing the headgirl, exploring
a smugglers' cave - and, in a final, thrilling chapter, ends
up in real danger of losing her life.
This is the second in the series of Dimsie books by Dorita
Fairlie Bruce.
