| ABOUT GEORGE
ATKINSON
During the past four years I have been particularly active in education, highway issues and trading standards. These, together with Social Services, are the principal responsibilities of Warwickshire County Council. In the case of education I took to the County the concerns of our schools about funding and the tight budgets imposed upon them. It was no doubt collective protest which prompted the Government to allocate directly to schools increased money so that the important responsibility of education was adequately supported. In all these instances local opinion counts and should never be underestimated and it is the individual protests which resulted in improved financial support being directed to our schools.
