Greenshields - an ancient and rare Scots surname believed to have originated from the name of a farm north of the town of Biggar in Lanarkshire. Research tends to indicate that all Greenshields are related to each other, with the exception of one or two branches who have adopted the name in the last century.

A number of us have been carrying out research and have developed a large Database of over 30,000 names of family tree members between the 15th Century and the present, but we have yet to trace all Greenshields.

We would appreciate Greenshields' family trees and can often link them to many other relatives and ancestors. We hope eventually to write a book on the family so biographical details and photographs are especially welcome.

This is purely a hobby and we make no charge for any information that we supply.
