1st Winter Chuckie results - January 13th
2nd Winter Chuckie results February 10th. Not a brilliant day, the wind picked up and we abandoned after
2 tasks. The scores have been normalised
3rd Winter Chuckie results February 17th A much better day, light wind, quite misty but with patches of lift coming through. Some very good duration flights by Ron and Gordon Moore in particular. Everyone had the odd problem or two, Nigel suffering radio a broken fuselage, Gordon and Dave a lack of lift on the last add em up flight, John an sudden attack of stalling. So the results:
4th Winter Chuckie series March 24th Another good day, perhaps a bit cooler than expected and slightly more wind than desireable. Dave ACmp was using the new 'thin wing' version of his Colibri, launches were certainly good, but still work to do on the duration side, handling in the R/E form not so good. Glyn had a distinctly off day, the Azura not performing anywhere near as well as earlier rounds. There was just the one problem, Ron having some sort of radio trouble in the last round. So the results:
The weather finally beat us so the series results have been calculated on the basis of best 3 from 4. The overall results are therefore as follows:
Congratulations to Nigel on winning the series, using a combination of a Monarch, Monarch plus home made fuselage and finally 'Sunspot' own design. Read about Sunspot development here. A final picture of most of the entrants and the winning model:
With models, left to right - Glyn, John, Ron, Dave, Nigel, Geoff (didn't take part), Pete and Gordon.
