Dorset Federation of Model Flying Clubs

The Wessex Soaring Association is a long time member of the Federation of Dorset  Model Flying Clubs ('the Federation').

The Federation was formed over 25 years ago to act as a contact point between the various local clubs and also took on the task of distributing some token gratuities to the various landowners of the public flying sites shared by everyone. Over the years the Federation has been involved with a few situations that have arisen at some sites and has managed to negotiate continued use of the sites.

The member clubs within the Federation also hold a few flying events and open them up to Federation members. Some long running events include the Dennis Roberts trophy thermal soaring event hosted by the Wessex Club and the Rose Bowl thermal event hosted by the Christchurch Club.

It should be noted that membership of a Federation club does NOT give access to the various private flying sites that members clubs have.
