Regular outings to sites of interest are co-ordinated with curriculum projects.

Curriculum 

Achieving competence in Literacy and Numeracy receives priority throughout a child’s time at Westwood. Lessons are structured with practice opportunities provided. Modern Reading and Mathematics schemes are used throughout the school. All children are taught to use phonics and encouraged to write independently. 

There is a strong emphasis placed on General Knowledge as well as the creative areas of Art, Drama and Music. 

Children in their final year may attend the after-school French Club.
