MotorMart Autojumble

18th May 2008

Arriving for the second day the New Forest Group soon set about setting up their new banner and signs with the help of visiting Bristol member Steve Smeltzer.  The area was kindly given to them free by Beaulieu.

The car on show was a 1939 Standard Flying eight Tourer

A lot of interest was shown in the stand generally, but especially by many ex members or new owners of Standards who took membership forms away to fill in.

This was the first outing for the Group’s Banner which can be hung on a tent or on the metal stand as seen.

The real fun started when the clubs Publicity Officer was confronted by a Spanish visitor who spoke NO ENGLISH and of course Darrell who spoke

NO SPANISH.

After a good hour of signs, gestures and a dictionary Darrell learnt that the gentleman wanted to join the club as he is restoring a 1934 Ten 4 door saloon

Seen seated in the Flying 8 is

New Spanish member Jose Manuel Filloy Alvarez
