A lecture
was given by Chris
Slater to members
of The
Somborne & District Society at The
Village Hall. Those attending
were asked to bring something relating to that period. |

Various
items including books,rationcards,petrolvouchers were
brought along. |
So it was
a great surprise when Darrell Cunningham appeared outside the Village Hall
with his 1939 Standard Flying Eight Tourer. |
|
|
Members of
the public were told that the little car had in fact seen action during WW2
answering emergency calls with a doctor on board after air raids in and
around Bermondsey London. |
