LIFE ON THE HOME FRONT IN WW2

The Somborne & District Society

Tuesday 13th May 2008

A lecture was given by

Chris Slater

to members of

The Somborne & District Society at

The Village Hall.

Those attending were asked to bring something relating to that period.

Various items including books,rationcards,petrolvouchers

were brought along.

So it was a great surprise when Darrell Cunningham appeared outside the Village Hall with his 1939 Standard Flying Eight Tourer.

Members of the public were told that the little car had in fact seen action during WW2 answering emergency calls with a doctor on board after air raids in and around Bermondsey London.
