The Campaign

Any member support will be highly productive in the effort to move things along. We need MSP representation from each region to encourage the Executive to respond far faster than has been our lot over the past few years.

It is vital that those concerned in hedge disputes should let their MPs and SMPs know about their problem and how seriously it affects them.

Tell your MP you urgently need achange in the Law in Scotland,\. Include a two or three sentences description of your own problem. Bear in mind also that sympathisers in other regions can usually be induced to write to their MSPs.

Let our new campaign leader, Colin Watson, know of your particular difficulty so that his direct liaison with the Parliament can be made more effective. See contact addresses below

Please try to increase our Scothedge membership. Notices in shops, libraries, local media can bring in members.
Just give the website address,   http://hedgeline.org/scothedge.htm   and our information number,   Tel. 0870 24 00 627.
Please do not publicise any individual Hedgeline worker's number or email.

New campaign leader to build upon Scothedge success.

Management of the Scothedge Campaign has been taken up by Dr. Colin Watson in Edinburgh in order to facilitate contact with the Scottish Parliament based in the Capital. Following his own high profile dispute, Colin joined Scothedge in May 2002 to support Pam McDougall's petition to the Parliament's Petition Committee.

Pam and James are still in place as Hedgeline's Scottish area organisers and will still give advice. Colin, with their full approval, takes on the role as Scots Campaign Leader. He will be providing information updates for the Scothedge website, which is available through the index on Hedgeline.org. Colin, who has well established links to MSPs, will be sending out campaign based newsletters. He is dedicated to the success of the High Hedges (Scotland.) Bill.
