Pirkenhammer UK

Over two hundred years ago, a chinaware factory was built in Bohemia and the brand Pirkenhammer was originated.
At the Vienna World fair in 1839, where we won Gold, the awarding committee commented that we demonstrated "good taste in shape, clear body, smooth glaze, and high quality of printing".

In 1945 when the communist government nationalised all the Czecholslovakian Porcelain factories Pirkenhammer was chosen to be the centre for research and development.

Russian designer Alexey Narovlyansky was so impressed by the approach to porcelain manufacturing and commitment to innovative technology that he bought the factory in 2006.

He then proceeded to implement a visionary project which has materialised in an outstanding range of high tech porcelain. The collection is the culmination of his lifelong ambition to realise a new look in porcelain manufacture.

In 2008 we launched the new ranges at Birmingham and Frankfurt where we caught the eye of many leading interior designers as well as restaurateurs and retailers including Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen (below left).
