From the British perspective, shopping in Florida is a great experience. What you pay in dollars would equate to pounds (or the euro equivalent whatever that is!) over here. So everything is cheap.
Or so it seems.
The prices marked are always less tax, and depending on which county you are in determines how much tax you pay!
For example, in Orange county (where our house is) the tax is 6.5%, meanwhile in Kissimmee (Osceola county) it's 7%. You will soon get to realize this when you get to the check-out! But the prices are still cheaper than in the U.K!

There are three supermarkets within a two minute drive of our house with a Wal*Mart 5 Minutes away, and a K Mart about 10 minutes away.
The Florida Mall is the closest large shopping mall. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get to depending on the traffic and route taken and has all the big names, Sears, J.C. Penney etc.
The Belz Factory Outlet is huge and is near to Universal Studios, and has numerous big name outlets including Reeboks, Timberland, etc.

There are several "flea markets" along the main street through Kissimmee, and further out towards St Cloud is the Osceola Flea Market, catering for all tastes.

A point to remember for UK residents, your personal duty free purchase limit is £145. For example, take my family of five, 5 times £145 = £725, therefore 70 £10 cd's, no problem, 14 cd's each, £140 each, no duty, but buy a single item worth £700 and you will pay duty on the whole £700!!! Ouch!!!!!
