Contacting Us...

Please note that when we are out sailing which we hope will be most of the time communications are patchy at best.  The best bet is to try the mobile number and leave a message.  Email works well but we can usually only receive and send messages when we are in Oban which is usually Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Bear with us and we will get back to you when technology allows.

If you click on the logo you will discover the best places to eat in Scotland as you travel to and from Corryvreckan. Unfortunately the parent company which published the guide book is now out of business. A Taste of Scotland was the definitive guide to good eating in Scotland. It represented all classes of places to eat from luxury hotels to humble guest houses (and even a charter yacht!). They were all inspected every year and the inspectors were looking for the best Scottish hospitality combined with skilful cooking and presentation. Fortunately the website is still maintained.

Alastair Sawday Guide

This year we are in the Alastair Sawday guide of hotels and special places to stay. This is an excellent guide to interesting places to stay as you travel round the UK (They also do European guides as well). All the entries have been personally inspected and they are more interested in a warm welcome than in technical lists of facilities. Click on the title and you will see our entry and can peruse the guide for interesting places to stay on your journey to and from Corryvreckan.

This is the local tourist board. A click on the logo will get you details of hotels and B & B's in the area if you wish to spend a night locally before or after your cruise on Corryvreckan. This site also hosts the famous Oban Bay WebCam which will show you the current weather in Oban and maybe even a glimpse of Corryvreckan alongside the North Pier.

The national Scottish Tourist Board will get you details of more places to stay and other visitor attractions throughout Scotland.

SAIL SCOTLAND is a joint marketing cooperative for all forms of chartering and other marine activities in Scotland. If you cannot get a space on Corryvreckan at the time you wish or perhaps you want a self-sail yacht then Sail Scotland has lists of other companies which may be able to help.

lerags house

Lerags house is a small hotel just outside Oban and is another Alastair Sawday listing. It is owned and run by Charlie and Bella Miller  and is certainly the best place in the area to stay before or after your cruise on Corryvreckan. Click on the link to get full details.

Boatyard

Most years when we need to take Corryvreckan out of the water for antifouling or repair we head for the Corpach Boatbuilding Company near Fort William. They are specialists in steel boat building and maintainance.

Repainting

In 2005 the hull and deckhouse needed repainting so Corryvreckan went to Silvers Marine on the Gareloch. They are a top class yacht yard who have a good reputation for their paintwork. They even went to the trouble of extending their sprayshop so that Corryvreckan could fit inside and, as result, the finish on the new paintwork is superb.
