Joinging the Saladir Mailing List
The web interface to the Saladir Mailing List doesn't give you an option to actually join the list. This has to be done via email. Below is a simple list of instructions that you can follow to join up.
1. Send an email to saladir-request@japeteus.keltti.jyu.fi.
2. Type the following inside the main body of the email (you can put whatever you like as the subject):
subscribe saladir email
...where 'email' is the email address you will be using to send messages to the list. This is very important. If you use a different email to subscribe to the list than the one you will be sending messages from, you will most likely fail to recieve responses from the list.
3. To actually send a message to the list, mail saladir@japeteus.keltti.jyu.fi. It will then be recieved by all the other members of the list.
When sending a query command to the list it is important to use saladir-request@japeteus.keltti.jyu.fi, otherwise you'll be sending your commands to the actual mailing list and they won't get processed.
subscribe {list} [{email}] - subscribe yourself (or whoever is at 'email') to 'list'.
unsubscribe {list} [{email}] - unsubscribe yourself (or whoever is at 'email') from 'list'.
which - find out what mailing lists you are currently a member of.
who {list} - find out who else is on the 'list' you specified.
info {list} - retrieve general introductory information on the 'list' named.
lists - show what other lists are available for you to join.
help - get a help message similar to this list.
end - stops processing commands (useful if your mailer adds a signature).
