been launched!

At the end of last year, after
what seemed like years of looking, we got the keys to our new premises. We now
have two buildings at our disposal, our original premises on Arundel St are
being used solely as offices for all the paper pushing and phone calls we need
to do, while the new building, just around the corner on Charles St is
available for use by the young people at the project.
The new building gives us a
great opportunity to offer more time to the young people at the project,
because of the space it has. Instead of being confined to 3 fairly small rooms
for everything, we now have a room for groups, a well-stocked library (thanks
to the Youthboox project), and two private rooms for one to one time.
All the groups at the
project have been using the new rooms since the new year, and the opinion seems
to be good. Last week we had a cooker delivered, allowing the Older Activity
Group to make some pizzas instead of us going out to buy them, and there are
plans for cooking to become a feature in all the group’s calendars.
Other news is that the
Younger Activity Group are busy planning their residential, which is to take
place over Easter. They are going to
