| Dear Helen I am really interested in the fashion world and want to become a model some day. But my parents don't agree with this and want me to concentrate on my school work even though I am doing really well. I am due to leave high school next year, as I am 15, and I was wondering if there would be anything I could do to start of actually modelling. Susan |

| Dear Susan It is good that you have an idea of what you want to do with your future. The best thing you could do to help your career in the fashion world is to continue on with your education, whilst building up a portfolio of pictures of yourself to start a modelling career. One way of doing this would be to go to a professional photographer who does modelling portfolios, although you would have to pay for this.In Worcester you may wish to try 'Number 96', 96 Barbourne Road,Tel: 01905 20968, as they are modelling specialists in creative portraiture and do modelling portfolios. Hairdressers also advertise for models and this might be another way of building up your portfolio and earn some money. I would also be a good idea to go and speak with a careers advisor either at school or at the careers centre in town (Worcester Careers Centre, 10/12 Farrier Street, Tel: 01905 765525), as they can give you more information on modelling as a career. If there is any further information you would like please feel free to call Youthline on 01905 613131. Good Luck!
